Grant Proposal: Move For Change Project

Introduction

Dear XX Council,
Thank you for taking the time to review this proposal for a potential partnership between Move For Change and the xx Network. This collaboration represents an opportunity to bridge fitness, charitable giving, and blockchain technology to drive impactful social change. With a hybrid approach leveraging Move For Change’s innovative platform and xx Network’s quantum-secure blockchain, we can unlock transformative opportunities in both industries.

About Move For Change
Founder: Julian Compton
Website: Move For Change
Move For Change is revolutionizing charitable giving through physical movement. Users turn their walking, running, or cycling activities into impactful charitable donations. The platform has already raised $180,000 for over a dozen charities through its “dollar-per-kilometer” prototype campaigns. Now, with beta development near completion, Move For Change seeks to scale and integrate blockchain technology to enhance transparency, efficiency, and security.

Value to xx Network
Privacy-First Platform: Move For Change processes sensitive movement and donation data, aligning perfectly with xx Network’s privacy-preserving technology.
Market Opportunity: Move For Change connects the fitness market ($14.7 billion) and charitable giving ($471.8 billion), introducing new audiences to blockchain via xx Network.
Proven Track Record: A successful prototype demonstrates traction and scalability potential.
Global Reach: Utilizing xx Network’s low-fee, quantum-resistant architecture enables seamless, secure global donations, including microtransactions.

Project Scope
Move For Change will integrate with xx Network across multiple development phases, driving adoption and demonstrating the potential of blockchain in social good applications.

Roadmap:

  • Phase 1: Beta Launch (Current Stage)
    • Finalize current beta version.
    • Launch with Web2 architecture.
    • Begin technical integration planning with xx Network.
  • Phase 2: Integration Foundation (3-6 months)
    • Build hybrid Web2/Web3 architecture.
    • Add XX wallet connection.(optional)
    • Integrate basic crypto payment functionality.
    • Test movement verification systems.

  • Phase 3: Enhanced Features (6-9 months)
    • Full xx Network payment integration.
    • Advanced movement verification.
    • Charity onboarding system.
    • Reward mechanisms using XX coins.

  • Phase 4: Full Decentralization (9-12 months).
    • Deploy smart contracts for campaign management.
    • Implement automated donation distribution.
    • Add governance features for campaign verification.
    • Launch cross-platform mobile apps.

(All payments are subject to 6-12 month linear vesting at behest of the XX Council.)

Funding
Move For Change 1.5 million XX coins, disbursed in tranches tied to project milestones.
Funding will follow a weighted vesting schedule to incentivize project completion, with the majority released in later stages.
Funding Plan:
Phase 1 Milestone: 10% upon completion and approval of Beta launch.
Phase 2 Milestone: 20% upon completion and approval of hybrid Web2/Web3 architecture and movement verification testing.
Phase 3 Milestone: 30% upon implementation of XX payment integration and reward mechanisms.
Phase 4 Milestone: 40% upon full decentralization (smart contracts, mobile app launch, automated donation distribution).
Vesting Period: Payments will linear vest over 6 months upon each project-milestone completion to ensure long-term commitment.

Target Audiences for XX Network

  • Fitness Enthusiasts: Integrating blockchain with fitness apps to engage millions of active users.
  • Charitable Donors: Demonstrating the power of secure, transparent donations through crypto.
  • Non-Profits: Offering a new, cost-effective way to accept donations globally.
  • Corporate Wellness Programs: Enabling companies to engage employees with socially impactful initiatives.

Conclusion
The partnership between Move For Change and the XX Network aligns seamlessly with shared goals of privacy, innovation, and societal impact. By leveraging XX’s cutting-edge blockchain technology, Move For Change will elevate its platform, reaching new markets while introducing XX Network to a diverse audience.
This collaboration not only accelerates blockchain adoption but also sets a precedent for using decentralized technologies to drive global social impact.
Thank you for your consideration.

1// The situation with MFC is better compared to $ASG.
It did not raise funds externally or issue/distribute tokens.
However, this is also a completely external project.
Providing development funds to such external projects is unreasonable.
Yesterday, I wrote a critical post about supporting all development costs, and the response stated that they weren’t requesting all the funds.

2// Just because the intention is good does not mean it aligns with the vision of the xx network.
The vision of protecting the privacy of donors and beneficiaries seems admirable,
but have the legal requirements for this been considered?
For example, donors often aim to benefit from tax deductions. How would privacy function in such a context?
Moreover, even the situation where we need to question the vision of such a non-profit organization seems inappropriate.
For this reason, instead of focusing on promoting the vision and applying for grants,
it would be more appropriate to request funding only for the minimal elements directly related to xx network integration.

3// “MFC would offer donors and charities the privacy and security they need, which isn’t something you find in other platforms typically. That’s the unique value here—MFC isn’t simply competing with existing apps but elevating the concept into something more impactful.”
– This sounds like a very impressive vision, but charities or donors can simply have Bitcoin wallets or XMR wallet addresses,
or any other alternative wallet addresses.
It’s unclear why such a non-profit organization would require such a high level of privacy and quantum resistance.

4// While the fairness of MFC’s funding request seems better than $ASG, if the true aim is to expand the reach of charities and donors for non-profit purposes,
then they should apply for grants only for matters related to integration with the xx network,
while the remaining development stages should be carried out voluntarily.
It doesn’t seem appropriate to provide all development costs for an uncertain vision of a non-profit organization.
Personally, I don’t think the grant should exceed 300,000 xx.

5// MFC claims to be a non-profit organization, and the intent itself is commendable.
However, a good intention and xx network’s pursuit of privacy and quantum resistance are separate issues.
We can support good causes by donating to organizations like UNICEF or World Vision and German Red Cross
In Canada, there’s Save the Children, for example.
It’s questionable whether it’s appropriate for xx network to donate 1,500,000 xx to the vision of an external non-profit organization given its own circumstances.

It would be better to see the completion of “BRIDGE DEVELOPMENT” in Q1/Q2 2024 as a good grant model and base future grant applications on that.
