When using polkadot-js browser extension, and ledger app, I am prompted to Update metadata in the Metadata tab under settings on xx network portal. However, the actual button on the UI is grayed out. I have not been able to get this to work. It works fine for other polkadot networks for the same wallet extension.

As far as I know and I say this because I’ve managed to make transactions with the Web Wallet and Ledger device, the metadata update is not required.

Navigate to “Settings”. You will see “account options”, “manage ledger app” and select “Use the Chain Specific Ledger App” and press “Save”
Open the Ledge Live App and connect your ledger device and unlock the device. On the Ledger device, not the Ledger Live app, open the “xx network” app, scroll through the menu options and you should find “Expert mode”, enable “Expert mode”.
Then resume using the Wallet and Ledger device as usual.
