Revised Increase Min Staking

In hindsight, the decision was great, but not nearly enough. But, given the amount of trouble I (and few other supporters) had to go through to, it was also the only rescue step attempted.

As I type this, we have less than 200 (probably managed by fewer than 100 people) slots that are full, and more than 100 are empty.
There’s a dude with 11,261xx on the node (not 11K xx validator’s stake, but total). Pools and individuals with >=5 nodes seem numerous (maybe more than 10).

As I look at the explorer, it shows 177 validators online, 20 offline (probably taking a break while gaming and need the GPU - no problemo, there are 100+ free validator slots - can jump back on that gravy train right after next validator election!), transactions per second gyrate between 600 and 1,200 (compared to 3,000-ish back in the day). Precomp success rate is dismal - only 76%; it was well over 90% in the days before “anything goes”.

This is what lack of a propertarian mindset leads to. People who whined about this proposal couldn’t even understand that one’s ability to use the network anonymously didn’t mean that validation had to work the same way.

We should have righted the ship early on, but we waited too long. By 2024 close to a half didn’t understand and close to a half were multi-noding. :man_shrugging:
