Node State/Province Harjumaa
Node Country Estonia
For which networks have you ever operated a node?
  • Other (please specify): Mina, Casper
What kind of improvements would you like to see in xx network nodes vs. previous nodes you have supported? I belive in xx team that they will do their best to provide good support and all required what will be needed.
What are potential setbacks preventing you from operating an xx network node? all good
What is the maximum upload bandwidth in megabits per second your node can provide? 500Mbit/s
What is the maximum download bandwidth in megabits per second your node can provide? 500Mbit/s
What is a reasonable uptime estimate you can provide for your BetaNet node? 100
Please estimate the cost of electricity in the geographic area where your BetaNet node will be running. 0.132 euro/kWh
On a monthly basis, how much time can you publicly commit to dedicating toward governance if you were selected as a BetaNet node operator?` 100
In what type of environment would this server be located? that is negotiable, what will be the best (could be at home or any datacentre)
If your server is located in your personal home, please specify the name of your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Telia 500 Mbits
If your server is located in a Datacenter, please specify the name of the company hosting it. Nodes will not be allowed to run on Hetzner. If you do, you will not receive compensation. Im ok to run a node at Home , or we can discuss a better solution
Do you have past experience deploying hardware servers in a datacenter? yes, currently running 10+ nodes on vps and vds
Do you already own sufficient hardware to meet the published xx network BetaNet Node specifications (found here)? Its not a problem, I will get required hardware in couple days if I will get an opportunity to participate in xx network
Do you have hardware you would like to use but does not meet the stated BetaNet node specs? If so, please provide specs on that hardware below:
Why do you want to be a node? I like doing it and I see a big potential in xx network
How did you originally hear about the xx network? Telegram
Which current xx network communities are you a member of?
  • Telegram
  • Discord
Are you an active member of those communities? Yes
What specifically, interests you about the xx network platform? I am very excited about xx network. Especially excited of tehnology and high level of privacy network can provide. Aso ecosystem vision and network independence looks great.
Outside of xx network communities, are you an active participant in other node or developer community groups? If so, which ones? nym, aleo, rizon, anoma
Have you ever attended a blockchain conference? If so, which one(s)? not yet
Do you have past experience managing communities or creating content to be distributed across social media? Please enter details for all with which you are comfortable or have experience:
  • Instructional video content: I have done it couple times for Mina
  • Group messaging curation / management (telegram, whatsapp, etc): I can do it for sure
  • Forum management for Discord: Im andanced user of discord
As part of growing the xx network community, are you willing to create content as part of operating an xx network BetaNet node? Examples would be node setup & on-boarding review vlog post, bi-weekly twitter update, medium review of on-going node operational process, etc. I can do some guides and informative posts
Would you be interested in helping to lead the development of the next xx network community? Yes
Why do you want to run a node in the xx network
  • To promote quantum secure distributed systems
  • To earn xx coins
  • To help build David Chaum's vision of a decentralized world
  • To contribute to a promising project
  • To undo the centralization of the internet by big tech companies
  • To help build true digital cash to fuel a decentralized economy
What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit? Distributed teworks got some similarities with decentralized networks. The main difference is that distributed networks got higher fault tolerance, speed and scalability than decentralized, so my preference is slightly more distributed side. But for srue decentralization at all is much better for end user than centralization.
As best as you can given currently available information, please describe the value proposition of the xx network platform and how it differs from other current blockchain solutions. The xx network is very different from others blockchain solutions. Main things that differs xx network from others is cMix packets protocol and xx consensus which provides high level of privacy, high scalability and almost high speed(performance) of transactions. Basically message, transaction data etc sent from A to B is devided to small pieces and moves through random route formed from randomly selected operated nodes. Random rout is precomputed in adcance by another group of nodes which can be used for one unique transaction only, that allows to transfer user data in real time. After transaction is finalized that rout will be destroyed. This technology completely hides all metadata. XX netowk got high scalability, so by growing network obtains higher and higher performance.
Privacy by Default is a goal of the xx network Platform. In your opinion, why is Privacy by Default critical for the future of the internet? Privacy for using internet is very important. Our everyday operations at internet contains many of valued information and when some of that information could be unsecured it is a big problem for sure.
In your opinion, what threat, if any, do quantum computers pose toward decentralized systems? What about centralized systems? For now quantum computers is kinda futurism. But in theory if such machines will appear decentralized networks will be for sure much more secured agains it than centralized.

Nice application. Running a node at home is preferable…

It’s better at home of course. I vote
