For which networks have you ever operated a node?
What kind of improvements would you like to see in xx network nodes vs. previous nodes you have supported? n/a
What are potential setbacks preventing you from operating an xx network node? I don't see any major issue. Maybe the only thing could be the ISP because of being in Chile (far from the rest of the world), but I've already check for a 1000/400 Mb plan which I think would be good enough.
What is the maximum upload bandwidth in megabits per second your node can provide? 400
What is the maximum download bandwidth in megabits per second your node can provide? 1000
What is a reasonable uptime estimate you can provide for your BetaNet node? 90
Please estimate the cost of electricity in the geographic area where your BetaNet node will be running. 25 USD per month.
On a monthly basis, how much time can you publicly commit to dedicating toward governance if you were selected as a BetaNet node operator?` 3
In what type of environment would this server be located? Personal Home
If your server is located in your personal home, please specify the name of your Internet Service Provider (ISP). TELEFONICA CHILE (MOVISTAR)
If your server is located in a Datacenter, please specify the name of the company hosting it. Nodes will not be allowed to run on Hetzner. If you do, you will not receive compensation.
Do you have past experience deploying hardware servers in a datacenter? No
Do you already own sufficient hardware to meet the published xx network BetaNet Node specifications (found here)? No
Do you have hardware you would like to use but does not meet the stated BetaNet node specs? If so, please provide specs on that hardware below: No, I will buy brand-new hardware according to the XX specifications.
Why do you want to be a node? I want to be an active contributor to the digital revolution.
How did you originally hear about the xx network? Word of Mouth
Which current xx network communities are you a member of?
    • Twitter
    • Facebook
Are you an active member of those communities? No
What specifically, interests you about the xx network platform? That it is being started. I found exiting to be a part of this from the beginning to change the nature of money and to distribute power among socity.
Outside of xx network communities, are you an active participant in other node or developer community groups? If so, which ones? No.
Have you ever attended a blockchain conference? If so, which one(s)? I've read about it and watched documentaries and videos online.
Do you have past experience managing communities or creating content to be distributed across social media? Please enter details for all with which you are comfortable or have experience:
    • Instructional video content: No
    • Livestream/broadcast video content: Yes, I host Chile podcast
    • Group messaging curation / management (telegram, whatsapp, etc): I was general editor of Chile digital newspaper.
As part of growing the xx network community, are you willing to create content as part of operating an xx network BetaNet node? Examples would be node setup & on-boarding review vlog post, bi-weekly twitter update, medium review of on-going node operational process, etc. Depending on the needs.
Would you be interested in helping to lead the development of the next xx network community? Yes
Why do you want to run a node in the xx network
    • To contribute to a promising project
    • To undo the centralization of the internet by big tech companies
    • To help build true digital cash to fuel a decentralized economy
    • To reverse the political centralization of legal, police, and military organizations which favor the wealthy and powerful
What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit? Decentralized networks have multiple “central points” or nodes, each of which connects other peripheral points of the network. Distributed networks eliminate centralization and have no point isolated nor dependent of another single point to connect it with the rest of the network.
As best as you can given currently available information, please describe the value proposition of the xx network platform and how it differs from other current blockchain solutions. It's true digital cash: Easy-to-use, and offering the privacy of true cash, It’s uniquely capable of supporting decentralized, democratic life: Quantum Secure Hash-based cryptography Protects against attack by quantum computing. Not the usual government controlled crypto. Settles in under 10 seconds: Compact quantum secure group signatures eliminate the need for thousands of pairwise signatures. Capable of scaling linearly: Adding xx nodes to meet growing consumer demand is no problem, because each endorser group remains the same size.
Privacy by Default is a goal of the xx network Platform. In your opinion, why is Privacy by Default critical for the future of the internet? In order to secure digital rights in the 21st century, we need to have privacy embedded from the beginning into the design and architecture of IT systems.
In your opinion, what threat, if any, do quantum computers pose toward decentralized systems? What about centralized systems? Quantum computers have greater processing power than traditional computers. Large-scale quantum computers will be able to break the security of current public-key cryptography. Centralized systems are much more vulnerable.
