Do you already own sufficient hardware to meet the published xx network BetaNet Node specifications (found here)? No
Do you have hardware you would like to use but does not meet the stated BetaNet node specs? If so, please provide specs on that hardware below: Lots. I will buy a new machine if I get selected. I have a i7 4771 machine that’s about to go obsolete, some raspberry’s. We’ll see
Why do you want to be a node? Because it’s great to help to grow the network of independency
How did you originally hear about the xx network? Word of Mouth
Which current xx network communities are you a member of?
Are you an active member of those communities? No
What specifically, interests you about the xx network platform? THE decentralized structure of it

Do you have past experience managing communities or creating content to be distributed across social media? Please enter details for all with which you are comfortable or have experience:
As part of growing the xx network community, are you willing to create content as part of operating an xx network BetaNet node? Examples would be node setup & on-boarding review vlog post, bi-weekly twitter update, medium review of on-going node operational process, etc. Some, other people will be better at it
Would you be interested in helping to lead the development of the next xx network community? Yes
Why do you want to run a node in the xx network
      • To earn xx coins
      • To help build David Chaum's vision of a decentralized world
      • To contribute to a promising project
      • To undo the centralization of the internet by big tech companies
      • To help build true digital cash to fuel a decentralized economy
      • To reverse the political centralization of legal, police, and military organizations which favor the wealthy and powerful
What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit? Well, this is a great start... but I would love to see a mesh network between all nodes and devices with a big enough spread to have the whole world covered without our original hard-wired-ISP-lines. But that’s a long game
As best as you can given currently available information, please describe the value proposition of the xx network platform and how it differs from other current blockchain solutions. My knowledge of others is too little so I can’t compare
Privacy by Default is a goal of the xx network Platform. In your opinion, why is Privacy by Default critical for the future of the internet? To keep the power away from the big tech firms. They already have too much recourses and are applying for bank licenses. In the future they will determine the height of your maximum morgage based on your private messages that are encrypted now but will be decryptable in a few seconds within 10 years
In your opinion, what threat, if any, do quantum computers pose toward decentralized systems? What about centralized systems? A lot less to decentralized. More to centralized because the data is in one place. Blockchain techniques could help us keep data private. When the quantum computers are really here, they will decrypt our current encryptions within milliseconds. And: the quantum computer will boost the development of True AI
