For which networks have you ever operated a node?
  • Bitcoin (BTC, BCH, etc)
  • Ethereum (ETH, ETC, etc)
What kind of improvements would you like to see in xx network nodes vs. previous nodes you have supported? I'm not sure ATM as I haven't been part of this network but I believe that speed of the network can get even better.
What are potential setbacks preventing you from operating an xx network node? For now, none.
What is the maximum upload bandwidth in megabits per second your node can provide? 300. Upgradable to 1000.
What is the maximum download bandwidth in megabits per second your node can provide? 300. Upgradable to 1000.
What is a reasonable uptime estimate you can provide for your BetaNet node? 100
Please estimate the cost of electricity in the geographic area where your BetaNet node will be running. 0.2 USD Kwh
On a monthly basis, how much time can you publicly commit to dedicating toward governance if you were selected as a BetaNet node operator?` 70
In what type of environment would this server be located? Personal Home
If your server is located in your personal home, please specify the name of your Internet Service Provider (ISP). RDS
If your server is located in a Datacenter, please specify the name of the company hosting it.
Do you have past experience deploying hardware servers in a datacenter? Deployed various servers (CI/CD, automation, etc) used for development in my day to day job.
Do you already own sufficient hardware to meet the published xx network BetaNet Node specifications (found here)? AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6GHz, GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2070 WINDFORCE 2X 8GB GDDR6 256-bit, Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL16 Kingston A2000, 1TB, NVMe, M.2
Do you have hardware you would like to use but does not meet the stated BetaNet node specs? If so, please provide specs on that hardware below: Not for now.
Why do you want to be a node? Because this network has what I was waiting for: Speed. Besides this I want to gain more experience with other crypto besides BTC& ETH.
How did you originally hear about the xx network? Word of Mouth
Which current xx network communities are you a member of?
  • Twitter
Are you an active member of those communities? No
What specifically, interests you about the xx network platform? The whitepaper is interesting, I do like the random voting idea.
Outside of xx network communities, are you an active participant in other node or developer community groups? If so, which ones? I'm more passive than active. I follow /r/Bitcoin and /r/ethereum.
Have you ever attended a blockchain conference? If so, which one(s)? No
Do you have past experience managing communities or creating content to be distributed across social media? Please enter details for all with which you are comfortable or have experience:
As part of growing the xx network community, are you willing to create content as part of operating an xx network BetaNet node? Examples would be node setup & on-boarding review vlog post, bi-weekly twitter update, medium review of on-going node operational process, etc. I would be intrested in tehnical aspects: instructions for setup, etc.
Would you be interested in helping to lead the development of the next xx network community? No
Why do you want to run a node in the xx network
    • To protect private personal communication around health and lifestyle issues from mass surveillance and abuse by centralized organizations
    • To promote quantum secure distributed systems
    • To undo the centralization of the internet by big tech companies
    • Other (please specify): To protect freedom!
What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit? In distributed network all nodes are equal. In decentralized network, some node are more special that others. As with all things, I believe there should be an equilibrium that's why I prefer distributed networks.
As best as you can given currently available information, please describe the value proposition of the xx network platform and how it differs from other current blockchain solutions. As mentioned before, speed is the key point of this network.
Privacy by Default is a goal of the xx network Platform. In your opinion, why is Privacy by Default critical for the future of the internet? People should not be tricked into sharing something that they're not aware of. This is the situation with most of the platforms this days, in a digital world you're not sure what you're sharing. So not sharing everything from the start sounds like a good option to me.
In your opinion, what threat, if any, do quantum computers pose toward decentralized systems? What about centralized systems? Hard to say. I suppose quantum computers may break encryption for existing hardware, but then you can always build a network on them...

    Great app…has my vote.

Very good form. I support you.

Great app. Random voting is indeed something that caught my eye too…
    Good to go welcome.

I love the “decoy ballot” concept for voting.

    specs : check, 2070
    Romania : geographical diversification ftw
    Bandwidth : 300 check
    Personal home : check

    good luck running your node!
    here’s my vote

    Thank you @Bulldog @Patty @MotoSharky @Jelaludo for your support!

@Jelaludo right, the decoy is an nice protection mechanism.

    Looks good to me
