Transaction rates and capacity that can match traditional fiat transactions, dApp performance that match commercial SaaS performance - secured efficiently with regards to end user privacy and security.
What are potential setbacks preventing you from operating an xx network node? There are some concerns about the current design of endorsers and the WOTS implementation that currently seem fragile or susceptible to an attack that I am confident the development team will be able to address in the long term.

Do you have hardware you would like to use but does not meet the stated BetaNet node specs? If so, please provide specs on that hardware below:
Why do you want to be a node? I believe that a technology like xx is needed in the world - honestly, I feel it's in many ways what bitcoin was supposed to evolve to. I want to support that.
How did you originally hear about the xx network? Youtube interview with David Chaum and Adam Back.
Which current xx network communities are you a member of?
  • Discord
Are you an active member of those communities? Yes
What specifically, interests you about the xx network platform? Transaction rate, privacy, scalability and dApps.

Do you have past experience managing communities or creating content to be distributed across social media? Please enter details for all with which you are comfortable or have experience:
  • Other: I am a journalist. I have also worked with PR/communication at IBM.
As part of growing the xx network community, are you willing to create content as part of operating an xx network BetaNet node? Examples would be node setup & on-boarding review vlog post, bi-weekly twitter update, medium review of on-going node operational process, etc. No
Would you be interested in helping to lead the development of the next xx network community? No
Why do you want to run a node in the xx network
  • To protect the privacy of political speech
  • To protect private personal communication around health and lifestyle issues from mass surveillance and abuse by centralized organizations
  • To promote quantum secure distributed systems
  • To earn xx coins
  • To help build David Chaum's vision of a decentralized world
  • To contribute to a promising project
  • To undo the centralization of the internet by big tech companies
  • To help build true digital cash to fuel a decentralized economy
What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit? Distributed is not necessarily decentralised. Centralised systems can be distributed in the sense that servers can be run on many systems owned, or controlled, by the same authority. While decentralised means that many entities may own nodes participating in an open ecosystem. I believe that a truly decentralised system is objective and prevents individual actors from influencing the system for their own gain. For a service such as xx, the ultimate goal must be to provide the framework and technology that ultimately results in a free and private economy, that empowers innovation and prevents inequality between the participants of the system.
As best as you can given currently available information, please describe the value proposition of the xx network platform and how it differs from other current blockchain solutions. Private metadata in dApp implementations, linear scalability in transaction rate, and potential for a truly decentralised and private communication ecosystem.
Privacy by Default is a goal of the xx network Platform. In your opinion, why is Privacy by Default critical for the future of the internet? Because opt-in privacy will always be to the detriment of common people. A person should not be an expert to exercise their right to privacy and security.
In your opinion, what threat, if any, do quantum computers pose toward decentralized systems? What about centralized systems? Quantum computers can be designed to break popular encryption algorithms, e.g. by using quantum physical properties to perform quick factorization, which would have been hard to perform for traditional computer systems. Algorithms exist and can be designed such that there are no known quantum physical properties that can be exploited to quickly perform hard mathematical operations upon which an encryption cypher is based upon. Using such cyphers provides additional security against the inevitable development of generally-available quantum systems.
