If your server is located in your personal home, please specify the name of your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Comcast
If your server is located in a Datacenter, please specify the name of the company hosting it.
Do you have past experience deploying hardware servers in a datacenter? Worked in IT since becoming an Avionics Tech in the Navy in 1979. I'm currently an IT Manager with a background in network engineering. I've built out data centers and deployed servers, switches, routers, etc. at major corporations and small startups.
Do you already own sufficient hardware to meet the published xx network BetaNet Node specifications? No
Do you have hardware you would like to use but does not meet the stated BetaNet node specs? If so, please provide specs on that hardware below:
Why do you want to be a node? I'm excited about the future of crypto and this network in particular.
How did you originally hear about the xx network? xx collective
Which current xx network communities are you a member of?
    • Twitter
    • LinkedIn
Are you an active member of those communities? Yes

Do you have past experience managing communities or creating content to be distributed across social media? Please enter details for all with which you are comfortable or have experience:
As part of growing the xx network community, are you willing to create content as part of operating an xx network BetaNet node? How much content on a monthly basis? create content, bi-weekly updates.
Would you be interested in helping to lead the development of the next xx network community? No
Why do you want to run a node in the xx network
      • To earn xx coins
      • To contribute to a promising project
      • To help build true digital cash to fuel a decentralized economy
What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit? Distributed networks are just an expansion of the current environment. Decentralization is a complete shift to an opportunity for equitable distribution of wealth and the ability of individuals to control and own their personal information.
As best as you can given currently available information, please describe the value proposition of the xx network platform and how it differs from other current blockchain solutions. Personal privacy, which goes beyond transaction encryption, is achieved by shredding the meta-data; something not performed on current blockchain solutions. Also, the consensus mechanism xxBFT provides for the speed and scalability necessary but not currently available on other platforms.
Privacy by Default is a goal of the xx network Platform. In your opinion, why is Privacy by Default critical for the future of the internet? Privacy by Default removes any actions that might be required by the end user to achieve an assumed level of security and privacy. Without such privacy, manipulations of large data collections will continue to impose direction subvert the stated goals of decentralization.
In your opinion, what threat, if any, do quantum computers pose toward decentralized systems? What about centralized systems? Many centralized systems are reliant on users to manually change keys. This will be easily broken by quantum computers at some point. Even decentralized systems are at risk without a one-time use hash based signature which is what I understand XX network is building from the start.

Can you improve your upload speed ?
      Change subscription or ISP ?

Can you meet both bandwidth and HW requirements?

      Pls answer above questions.

Can I use a cloud provider? If not, I’m currently limited to 30Mb upload but can get up to 800Mb down. I’ll see if there are any new ISP options. The hardware is not a problem.

Cloud = data center ? If you can put a graphic card and required hardware yes it can be good.
Yes if you can check if another ISP can give more bandwidth

Your node is a relay you download traffic from a node and send all to the next why need same bandwidth and ask 100mb.

Just to put into your awareness. To my understanding, operators from the US are currently excluded from receiving rewards. If this is no longer the case, someone from the xx node team chime in please.

I’m from the US. What does that mean for me?

U.S. Persons are not eligible to participate in the xx coin incentive program for nodes, however, may participate in the network without coin compensation. U.S. nodes complete the same application process and, if selected, will receive further instructions via email.

Will you be interested to still run a node even without the xx coin incentives?
