Haven v0.4.8 is live at haven.xx.network. This update is mostly about how Haven looks and feels day-to-day — a refreshed design, a brand-new light mode, and a few quality-of-life upgrades to chat.
Light Mode Has Landed
- Pick light or dark under Settings → Appearance
- The whole app has had a visual refresh — cleaner layouts, friendlier icons, and a more consistent look across every screen
One Panel for Everything Space-Related
- Members, Share, Settings, and Admin tools for a Space now live in a single slide-in panel instead of being spread across separate windows
- Less clicking around to do what you need
Chat Bubbles for Direct Messages
- Your one-on-one conversations now render as proper chat bubbles, like you’d expect from any modern messaging app
- Group Spaces keep their familiar feed layout
Faster QR Code Scanning
- Sharing and joining Spaces via QR codes is noticeably snappier on phone cameras
Bug Fixes
- Messages that fail to send no longer get stuck showing as “Sent” — you’ll see the actual failure and can retry
- Tapping a user’s name in a Space and choosing Direct Message opens their conversation directly, on both desktop and phone (previously dropped you on the DM list on small screens)
- Settings → Notifications toggles now flip when you click them and stick across page refreshes
- Lots of small polish across the whole interface, especially in light mode
