Haven Update Coming — Export Your Data Now

Hey everyone,

We’re preparing a major Haven upgrade that will bring desktop apps, improved performance, and new features. The upgrade involves a change to the underlying SDK (xxdk-wasm v0.3 to v0.4) which means your existing data will not carry over automatically.

What you need to do

Backup your data before the upgrade. We’ve just deployed a Backup feature to haven.xx.network:

  1. Log into haven.xx.network

  2. Go to Settings (gear icon)

  3. Click Backup

  4. Enter your existing account password and click Export All Data

  5. Save the .haven file somewhere safe

This file contains your identity, Space memberships, admin keys, and message history — everything you need to restore your account after the upgrade.

Timeline

  • Now: Backup feature is live. Backup your data.

  • ~1 week from now: Haven upgrades to v0.4. You’ll be able to import your .haven file to restore everything.

What happens if I don’t export?

After the upgrade, you’ll need to create a new identity. Your old codename, Space admin keys, and message history will not be recoverable.
