End-of-Year Holiday Scams

Between now and the New Year there is always an increase of bad actors targeting platforms like Discord and Telegram. There is a very logical reason scammers do this at this time of year, it’s because they anticipate moderators and staff will be busy with the holidays. Pretty smart right?
So, I caution everyone who is on xx network’s Discord and/or Telegram servers, to please keep this in mind! If you see offers for “support” and/or “help” and especially if you’re DM’d by ANYONE offering “support” and/or “help”. Count to 20 and think again about clicking a DM or link!

The MainNet Transition Program (MTP) Ends
On December 01, 2024, the MainNet Transition Program officially comes to an end. No Team Multiplier will be applied to MTP nodes after November 30, 2024.

Let me get your attention for a few more minutes …
For three years, “the team” - now the xx Foundation, offered supplemental xx coins via staking to select operators who participated in BetaNet and met certain criteria. MainNet and cMixx launched in November 2021, largely bootstrapped by operators who had experience running xx nodes and were geographically distributed. Since then, “Team Multiplier” or “TM” - an amount of xx coins, has been staked each era to assist MTP operators with getting their validators elected as a means which would result a better chance the cMixx infrastructure be comprised of well managed and geographically distributed nodes and gateways.
Three years has passed, and in some ways the MTP has aged well, and not so well in others. Regardless of whether at this time you appreciate what it offered or are happy to see it end, it is ending November 30, 2024. This is a significant milestone for xx network because it means validators and nominators are now more responsible for the stability and security of the blockchain and cMixx network more than ever before.
With MTP ending we encourage everyone with skin in the game and the ability to vote to participate in discussions and governance related to solutions better than MTP for issues that affect all decentralized systems such as whales, centralized pools, etc.
To all MTP validators, as sincerely as one can express gratitude on Discord, “Thanks for running a node!” TM might be going but I’m not going anywhere and if you need help in the form of info and/or technical support ask in Discord
