Specs
Why do you want to be a node? Several members of Digital Exchange Technologies (DET) have been working at David Chaum's DigiCash back in the 1990s. Since then, we have been strong advocates for privacy and data protection on the Internet. We have developed a follow up project to eCash which we are running in Australia issuing AUD and strongly identify with the values of and want to support the xx network. DET originates out of the RoZetta Institute, the same research institute that is also home of digi.cash
How did you originally hear about the xx network? David Chaum

Do you have past experience managing communities or creating content to be distributed across social media? Please enter details for all with which you are comfortable or have experience:
As part of growing the xx network community, are you willing to create content as part of operating an xx network BetaNet node? Examples would be node setup & on-boarding review vlog post, bi-weekly twitter update, medium review of on-going node operational process, etc. No
Would you be interested in helping to lead the development of the next xx network community? No
Why do you want to run a node in the xx network? To protect the privacy of political speech, To help build David Chaum's vision of a decentralized world, To contribute to a promising project
Other Reasons
What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit? Distribution refers to shared processing across multiple systems, locations or nodes. The control across a distributed network can still be centrally exercised. In a decentralised network, however, every node is in control of it's own "universe" and decides independently. The behaviour of the overall network is a sum of all the individual nodes.
As best as you can given currently available information, please describe the value proposition of the xx network platform and how it differs from other current blockchain solutions. Most current blockchain solutions don't actually provide privacy because of the linkability of transactions in the public ledger. Applying the mixer of the xx network seems to be a good way to achieve privacy
Privacy by Default is a goal of the xx network Platform. In your opinion, why is Privacy by Default critical for the future of the internet? If privacy is illegal, only criminals will have privacy
In your opinion, what threat, if any, do quantum computers pose toward decentralized systems? What about centralized systems? Reliance on non quantum resistent cryptographic algos as typically found in decentralised systems seems irresponsible given the progress in the field of quantum computing. Centralised systems have other means to secure their core functionality and can more easily change cryptographic methods used for access control.

Strong applicant, but would you be able to upgrade your connection speed (60 Mbps) to meet the Revised BetaNet Node Hardware Requirements?

Yes, 100 Mbps is the connection speed. It was just not clear where to position the slider as it ranged from 10Mbps to 10Gbps …

My full support then :+1:

@andru support you from my side!
Have a nice way. :muscle:

@Elvis, @lonewolf
Thx, appreciated! Any questions or comments, please let us know!

@andru Good application. Got my support :+1:
