Need new encryption and regular updates but if you look actual world without any update after 12 or 24 months and some devices keep during years (it’s good to not change all every year) isn’t good without update and almost nothing is done right now.
Everyone should switch immediately to an open source device/system and users community for keep every electronic device alive and secure with new encryption on long run. Your WEP wireless router is unusable now but if you can install ddwrt by example you can probably use WPA encryption on this same router even if the manufacturer not update anymore this device.
Open source (=! Apple) will save this numerical world in the future not miss the boat and switch.
