Would you be interested in helping to lead the development of the next xx network community? Yes
Why do you want to run a node in the xx network
    • To protect the privacy of political speech
    • To protect private personal communication around health and lifestyle issues from mass surveillance and abuse by centralized organizations
    • To promote quantum secure distributed systems
    • To earn xx coins
    • To help build David Chaum's vision of a decentralized world
    • To contribute to a promising project
    • To undo the centralization of the internet by big tech companies
    • To help build true digital cash to fuel a decentralized economy
    • To reverse the political centralization of legal, police, and military organizations which favor the wealthy and powerful
What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit? In a decentralized network, as in a distributive protocoli are distributed among several computing computers - nodes. Such networks achieve decentralization by allowing nodes to communicate and transfer information without a controlling center. Since there is no center, the data is verified by a consensus mechanism.
As best as you can given currently available information, please describe the value proposition of the xx network platform and how it differs from other current blockchain solutions. First of all xx Network is two protocols - Elixxir & Praxxis. Praxxis introduces the xx blockchain, a new approach that provides an unprecedented combination of speed, security and scalability. The main component of the decentralized blockchain is a consensus algorithm. Blockchain xx relies on the new quantum-safe consensus algorithm xxBFT, which provides linear authenticator complexity and single block finiteness. Elixxir is both responsible for privacy and communication. It is associated with the cMix technology. It is a new approach to anonymous communications.
Privacy by Default is a goal of the xx network Platform. In your opinion, why is Privacy by Default critical for the future of the internet? Privacy for me is still connected to the idea of independence on the Internet. When hundreds of gigabytes of your data are stored on third-party servers, your life (maybe not literally) begins to depend on those who own the servers. Personally, I've never been happy with this arrangement, because they give me no guarantee that the data won't be sold to someone else.
In your opinion, what threat, if any, do quantum computers pose toward decentralized systems? What about centralized systems? I am convinced that quantum computers will never be owned by the people. They will be state property, which means they will belong only to those in power. This is the aspect that makes quantum computers incredibly dangerous for all independent platforms.
