Node Country Italy
For which networks have you ever operated a node?
  • Other (please specify): Acala, ECO Network, Mina Protocol, Aleo, Anoma, Moonbeam Network, Spacemesh
What kind of improvements would you like to see in xx network nodes vs. previous nodes you have supported? I am only interested in having good and convenient tools for those who want to play with automation, monitoring and scripts (I want). This can play to the benefit of the network and attract a lot of cool developers who can find more unconventional solutions to many problems.
What are potential setbacks preventing you from operating an xx network node? I dedicate myself completely to this business. It is essential to me that my node has good uptime and works without problems.
What is the maximum upload bandwidth in megabits per second your node can provide? 800
What is the maximum download bandwidth in megabits per second your node can provide? 800
What is a reasonable uptime estimate you can provide for your BetaNet node? 100
Please estimate the cost of electricity in the geographic area where your BetaNet node will be running. 0,18 KWH
On a monthly basis, how much time can you publicly commit to dedicating toward governance if you were selected as a BetaNet node operator?` 90
In what type of environment would this server be located? Personal Home
If your server is located in your personal home, please specify the name of your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Aruba
If your server is located in a Datacenter, please specify the name of the company hosting it. Nodes will not be allowed to run on Hetzner. If you do, you will not receive compensation. Not located
Do you have past experience deploying hardware servers in a datacenter? No
Do you already own sufficient hardware to meet the published xx network BetaNet Node specifications (found here)? RAM 64 GB, SSD Samsung 970 PRO M.2 1TB, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, Intel Core i9-10900X, 883 DCT 240GB
Do you have hardware you would like to use but does not meet the stated BetaNet node specs? If so, please provide specs on that hardware below: No, I don't have
Why do you want to be a node? The more people support decentralized networks and blockchain, the more popular they will become and the faster they will enter our daily lives. We need this, given how many financial and privacy problems these technologies solve.
How did you originally hear about the xx network? Word of Mouth
Which current xx network communities are you a member of?
  • Discord
  • BetaNet Forum
Are you an active member of those communities? No
What specifically, interests you about the xx network platform? Quantum network stability technology, a token system (I would like to look at tokenomics in the future), a new and previously unknown to me type of consensus.
Outside of xx network communities, are you an active participant in other node or developer community groups? If so, which ones? Mina, Moonbeam, Spacemesh, Aleo
Have you ever attended a blockchain conference? If so, which one(s)? No
Do you have past experience managing communities or creating content to be distributed across social media? Please enter details for all with which you are comfortable or have experience:
As part of growing the xx network community, are you willing to create content as part of operating an xx network BetaNet node? Examples would be node setup & on-boarding review vlog post, bi-weekly twitter update, medium review of on-going node operational process, etc. No
Would you be interested in helping to lead the development of the next xx network community? Yes
Why do you want to run a node in the xx network
    • To protect the privacy of political speech
    • To protect private personal communication around health and lifestyle issues from mass surveillance and abuse by centralized organizations
    • To promote quantum secure distributed systems
    • To earn xx coins
    • To help build David Chaum's vision of a decentralized world
    • To contribute to a promising project
    • To undo the centralization of the internet by big tech companies
    • To help build true digital cash to fuel a decentralized economy
    • To reverse the political centralization of legal, police, and military organizations which favor the wealthy and powerful
What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit? Decentralized networks have no a priori single point of control. The same cannot be said for distribution networks. There may be one or more central computers that coordinate the work of other nodes. I believe that it is the decentralized kind of networks that we need. Some may say that the transition from full centralization should be gradual, and therefore we need distributive networks. I disagree, because everything about privacy and security of users must be approached radically and immediately limit the possibility of data leakage. Only decentralized networks can provide complete privacy and anonymity.
As best as you can given currently available information, please describe the value proposition of the xx network platform and how it differs from other current blockchain solutions. This network is going to provide completely secure communication by mixing and shredding metadata. There is also a special voting and governance mechanism based on democracy and random selection of voters. We must not forget that no other network is quantum-secure, and xx network has that level of security. The network's consensus algorithm prevents any of the validators from consolidating power because it chooses the block maker entirely at random. This is a very good solution because there are networks where validators with more stake have a greater advantage over others. This is not consistent with the nature of decentralized networks.
Privacy by Default is a goal of the xx network Platform. In your opinion, why is Privacy by Default critical for the future of the internet? We must admit that the concept of web 2.0 is already very outdated and even in some ways dangerous for its users. Big companies and organizations, which now own a large number of networks and platforms that we use every day, will always think about their profits first. They will never give up centralization in favor of privacy. So alternatives with default privacy must be created for users to leave centralized platforms for good.
In your opinion, what threat, if any, do quantum computers pose toward decentralized systems? What about centralized systems? It is obvious that a quantum computer, due to its computing power, can destroy any algorithm and protocol, decrypt passwords.
