You should first check out if a threadripper passes the required passmarks.
Threadripper 1900x is slower as a ryzen 5 3600 so it will not meet the soecs
I’m not sure about the CPU, but apart from that the application looks good to me.
Only dream I see. No my vote(
Thanks for the feedback. The quote I have been working to is a 2U server with a Threadripper 3960x.
As far as I understand this is a totally awesome CPU and out specs the Ryzen 9 5950 and outperforms it in all but one benchmark??
It is massively expensive though so I am looking for other quotes at the moment that can put a cheaper Ryzen in a 2U configuration for less money.
Thanks a lot for your support. As per my reply to Abbaskaya the Threadripper I’m quoted for is really high end, but I am looking for cheaper alternatives at the moment as the total build cost for this machine is £5,000 so far. They offered me a cheaper Ryzen 9 in a 4U case but I am aiming for 2U config in case it has to go to DC for bandwidth reasons. Thanks a lot.
Hi there, thanks for the feedback.
If you have a particular reason why you think I’m ‘dreaming’ then please specify so that I can at least give a response.
Too many ifs. Nothing personal
I believe everything starts with a dream.
I think that @xx_network also did start with a dream.
If you are able to meet the specs who cares.
Hope to see you soon as a node runner.
Thanks again I really appreciate your support.
I’ve got a far better quote now. I’ll try to attach it to my reply to Sobolkzn shortly…
Thanks a lot.
I’ve tried to upload the quote I have just received…but I am not allowed as I’m a ‘new user’…so I have to copy and paste it.
This is spec I will go for…

Will the XX software drivers be okay with this GPU?
PNY Quadro RTX 4000 8GB DDR6
I don’t think the rtx 4000 qualifies while it is not as fast as the rtx 2070 which is the minimum. Maybe @Keith could clarify if it is possible or not.
I would say, if you have already own one, give it a try. But if you don’t, it would not be my first choice.
Hi, I’ve spoken to the supplier again and have asked if he can find ANY GPU that matches the spec…
Hi Keith thanks for your support…I’ve spoken to the supplier again and have asked if he can find ANY GPU that matches the spec…
Hi, following the comments below about the GPU (I was offered the 4000 because supplies are so bad) I’ve spoken to the supplier again and have asked if he can find ANY GPU that matches the spec…
There’s only one IF left…and it’s not a reflection on my suitability to run a node…GPU supplies are non existent…I have asked my supplier to try to find another GPU…we thought the Quadro 4000 was suitable and is available in the UK but the guys below think it might not work…I will post when I find an available GPU to complete the spec…I will purchase the machine as soon as I get approval.
Try to find a used one.
Hi, I think I’m there…same quote updated with available RTX 2080 Super
