What about centralized systems? | Solving a hash for a Bitcoin block - starting with a large number of zeros - is extremely computationally intensive. This is why, even with the combined processing power of all computers on the bitcoin network, it takes approximately 7 minutes (2019) to solve a block. Quantum computing can get to the point where a single computation can solve a block with a very high degree of probability, and even if the probability is not 100%, just a few enumerations will allow it to be done. |
