      Hello AbbasKaya,

I just sent a e-mail for my application and i would like to inform you as well, I talked with ISP and I can upgrade my internet connection from “250MB download / 37MB upload” to “700MB download / 100MB upload”. Can you please let me know if this internet speed meet the requirements?

The current application doesn’t meet the requirements since the upload speed is too slow. You need at least 100 Mbps upload for the node. If you plan on running a gateway on the same machine, you’ll need another 100 Mbps. If you can only get 100 Mbps from your isp, you’ll have to run the gateway in a VPS instead.

More problematic is your graphics card. You absolutely NEED an NVIDA card. It’s because the node software is specifically written using CUDA instructions, which are not compatible with AMD cards. You’ll need an RTX 2070 or better.

See the requirements here: Revised BetaNet Node Hardware Requirements

Also, I’d like to see an answer to all the questions at the end. Until these elements are fixed, it’s a no for me.

      Hello Mrblister,

I already talked with the ISP and I can upgrade my internet speed to “700MB download / 100MB upload”. I wrote it above.

      (Ultra Plus)
      https://www.telstra.com.au/internet/plans
      https://www.telstra.com.au/small-business/internet/nbn/nbn-speeds-explained#fixedline

Also as you said, If the software is written for CUDA, I need to change my graphic card. I checked new card online and found GeForce RTX 3070 XLR8 Gaming EPIC-X RGB 8GB Video Card. is should be ok. If ok then I’ll order it immediatly.

One more question, How can I change my application? I will fill all blank fields.

      Thank you for your help

That’s great to hear. If you can only get 100 Mbps up, you’ll probably need to run the gateway on a VPS since it needs 100 Mbps for itself. This is the safest setup anyway.

The RTX 3070 is a great card (it’s the one I use!). Just make sure you can get it before it sells out. It’s hard to find graphics cards these days, and you certainly don’t want to have to buy from kijiji scalpers.

I don’t think you can change the application itself, but you can answer the missing information in a reply on this thread.

If you have a separate gateway 100mbs up is good but if you would like to run the gateway on the same machine as the node you will need 150mbs upload

150 Mbps would probably work, but the official specs calls for 100 Mbps for each (so 200 Mbps total).

Are you sure about that ?
Because of them being separate 100 maps should be enough if it is on the same machine you need more bandwith so 150 was enough.
But you saying the opposite I am not sure any more so I will ask @Keith he will give the proper answer.

I have send a pm @keith if I got the answer I will post it here or he will answer here but I am 99% sure that 100mbps is enough with separate machines

      Node -

Bandwidth 100 Mbps upload / 100 Mbps download

      Gateway -

Bandwidth 100 Mbps upload / 100 Mbps download
:exclamation: NOTE: The Gateway bandwidth requirements are separate from the Node bandwidth requirements

      Node + Gateway -

Bandwidth 150 Mbps upload / 200 Mbps download

Thanks for the correction Keith. I didn’t see the separate section for Node+Gateway for some reason.

We’ve currently got two nodes in Australia. They have been with us for a while, use Aussie Broadband and have been meeting monthly requirements. I know it’s a big country and Aussie Broadband might not provide service in your area, but it’s something to consider if Optus can’t offer adequate service.

      Hi Keith,
Actually, Today I have seen that ISP. I’m pretty new in this country for that reason I didn’t know it. I also checked the webpages of ISP and there is a option 500MB download, 200 MB upload. I will talk them tomorrow or next week.

      Here my blank/changed answers are;

Q: If you have previously applied to be a node please provide us with your application ID. Second-time applicants will be highly considered. You can email us at [email protected] if you don’t know your application ID.
      A: I have only 1 application

Q: Non-technical Role or Other (please specify)
A: Which question was depends this question? I could not remember

Q: For which networks have you ever operated a node?
      A: No

Q: What is the maximum upload bandwidth in megabits per second your node can provide?

A: Nope, It will work at home

Q: Do you have hardware you would like to use but does not meet the stated BetaNet node specs? If so, please provide specs on that hardware below:
A: I have hardware which meets all requirement

Q: Have you ever attended a blockchain conference? If so, which one(s)?
A: Yes (Blockchain Economy Summit - Istanbul, Turkey)

Q: Do you have past experience managing communities or creating content to be distributed across social media? Please enter details for all with which you are comfortable or have experience:
A: I’m not prefer to manage communities for that reason I have no experience with it. I can create content for distributing social media. I create content for my customers sometimes. I’m not professional but I can do it

Q: What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit?
A: Decentralized networks which means basicaly there is no single decision making, each computers/nodes in the network can makes it is own decision
Distributed networks which means basicaly there is no master node. Communicating and making decision between all the nodes together (like torrent)
I can say, I close to Distributed networks

      Nice and fast response.
If you change your download/upload speed and graphic card (Nvidia RTX 2070 or stronger), then you have my vote.
      Good luck :+1:
