What kind of improvements would you like to see in xx network nodes vs. previous nodes you have supported? my only wish is to see that hardware requirements actually match the real life resource consumption
What are potential setbacks preventing you from operating an xx network node? none
What is the maximum upload bandwidth in megabits per second your node can provide? 80-100
What is the maximum download bandwidth in megabits per second your node can provide? 600-800
What is a reasonable uptime estimate you can provide for your BetaNet node? 99
Please estimate the cost of electricity in the geographic area where your BetaNet node will be running. $0,06 kw/hour
On a monthly basis, how much time can you publicly commit to dedicating toward governance if you were selected as a BetaNet node operator?` 100
In what type of environment would this server be located? Personal Home
If your server is located in your personal home, please specify the name of your Internet Service Provider (ISP). SOHOnet

Do you have past experience deploying hardware servers in a datacenter? renting Contabo/Hetzner servers
Do you already own sufficient hardware to meet the published xx network BetaNet Node specifications (found here)? ryzen 9 3900x, 64gb of ram, rtx 3070, 1tb samsung 970 evo plus nvme
Do you have hardware you would like to use but does not meet the stated BetaNet node specs? If so, please provide specs on that hardware below: I also have dual Xeon E5 2678v3 machine with 128 gigs of ddr3 ram
Why do you want to be a node? I have the requred hardware so it's obvious that I want to use it by securing a network like XX and getting rewarded for that
How did you originally hear about the xx network? Word of Mouth
Which current xx network communities are you a member of?
  • Discord
Are you an active member of those communities? Yes
What specifically, interests you about the xx network platform? scalable architecture
Outside of xx network communities, are you an active participant in other node or developer community groups? If so, which ones? Mina protocol
Have you ever attended a blockchain conference? If so, which one(s)? no
Do you have past experience managing communities or creating content to be distributed across social media? Please enter details for all with which you are comfortable or have experience:
  • Other: I am a part of a small local video production sudio with some experience in making commercials, youtube content for children, etc.
As part of growing the xx network community, are you willing to create content as part of operating an xx network BetaNet node? Examples would be node setup & on-boarding review vlog post, bi-weekly twitter update, medium review of on-going node operational process, etc. weekly/bi-weekly vlog posts and twitter updates are ok for me
Would you be interested in helping to lead the development of the next xx network community? Yes
Why do you want to run a node in the xx network
  • To protect private personal communication around health and lifestyle issues from mass surveillance and abuse by centralized organizations
  • To promote quantum secure distributed systems
  • To earn xx coins
  • To help build David Chaum's vision of a decentralized world
  • To contribute to a promising project
  • To undo the centralization of the internet by big tech companies
What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit? Distributed means that the processing is shared across multiple nodes, but the decisions may still be centralized. Decentralized means that there is no single point where the decision is made. So I hope I can contribute to XX's vision of decentralized future by running this node.
As best as you can given currently available information, please describe the value proposition of the xx network platform and how it differs from other current blockchain solutions. I see the biggest XX network value in implementing quantum cryptohraphy and ability to scale linearly because I'm honeslty tired of ETH's network congestion and absurd gas fees so I hope XX can solve these scalability problems and bring us fast, secure and anonymous payments.
Privacy by Default is a goal of the xx network Platform. In your opinion, why is Privacy by Default critical for the future of the internet? Big tech corporations have gone too far with collecting our personal data. Just watch Social Dilemma on Netlfix if you are still unsure why Privacy is critical for the future of internet.
In your opinion, what threat, if any, do quantum computers pose toward decentralized systems? What about centralized systems? From what I know, there is currently no threat, at least Praxxis consensus promises us it can cope with emerging quantum computing.

Bandwidth is boarder line. Can you improve this?

Your upload bandwidth, can you improve this?

A very good experienced node runner, so i can really recommend him as already being a part of xx network.

Yeah I have a few more ISPs to choose from so I can definetely improve this!

I took that upload speed as a minimum after running speedest a few times with different locations like US/Germany, etc. At some scenarios my upload bandwidth reached 500-700mbits but as I’ve said to Bulldog there are ways to improve this and I’m planning to connect more ISPs very soon.

nice spec, has my vote

Thanks man, appreciate that!

So long you run it with a GPU, no problem.

I have a few options for GPU: 3070 and 1080ti. I’m also curious if a laptop like this can handle this node:
GIGABYTE AORUS 15P I7-10870H/32GB/512PCIeSSD/RTX3070P

Good application. A yes from me.
