  • Ethereum (ETH, ETC, etc)
What kind of improvements would you like to see in xx network nodes vs. previous nodes you have supported? Participating in a protocol which does not require staking or heavy investments into hardware. Easy to run the node at home location.
What are potential setbacks preventing you from operating an xx network node? Hardware failure or extensive power outage (beyond UPS capacity).
What is the maximum upload bandwidth in megabits per second your node can provide? 100Mbps
What is the maximum download bandwidth in megabits per second your node can provide? 500Mbps
What is a reasonable uptime estimate you can provide for your BetaNet node? 99
Please estimate the cost of electricity in the geographic area where your BetaNet node will be running. $0.20/kWh
On a monthly basis, how much time can you publicly commit to dedicating toward governance if you were selected as a BetaNet node operator?` 20
In what type of environment would this server be located? Personal Home
If your server is located in your personal home, please specify the name of your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Vodafone

Do you already own sufficient hardware to meet the published xx network BetaNet Node specifications (found here)? Ryzen 5 5600X/16Gb DDR4/GTX3060/1TB SDD
Do you have hardware you would like to use but does not meet the stated BetaNet node specs? If so, please provide specs on that hardware below:
Why do you want to be a node? Participate in a different kind of blockchain developed and run by scientists and engineers and not entrepreneurs.
How did you originally hear about the xx network? Word of Mouth
Which current xx network communities are you a member of?
  • Discord
Are you an active member of those communities? No
What specifically, interests you about the xx network platform? The project itself is very different from other L1 chains and led by true enthusiasts. I believe it has a great potential to influence the entire blockchain industry. In addition, I'm proficient in Golang and interested to try developing something in the crypto space.
Outside of xx network communities, are you an active participant in other node or developer community groups? If so, which ones? No.
Have you ever attended a blockchain conference? If so, which one(s)? No.
Do you have past experience managing communities or creating content to be distributed across social media? Please enter details for all with which you are comfortable or have experience:
As part of growing the xx network community, are you willing to create content as part of operating an xx network BetaNet node? Examples would be node setup & on-boarding review vlog post, bi-weekly twitter update, medium review of on-going node operational process, etc. 1
Would you be interested in helping to lead the development of the next xx network community? Yes
Why do you want to run a node in the xx network
    • To protect the privacy of political speech
    • To promote quantum secure distributed systems
    • To earn xx coins
    • To contribute to a promising project
    • To help build true digital cash to fuel a decentralized economy
What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit? All current major PoS blockchains are more distributed than decentralised due to the high staking requirements to incentify running validator nodes. PoW protocols are a dead end due to high energy costs and environmental impact.
As best as you can given currently available information, please describe the value proposition of the xx network platform and how it differs from other current blockchain solutions. Unique XX points: - Truly decentralised way for running validator nodes - Total transactional privacy - Very strong cryptographical base - Delivering an actual free public messaging application with the network
Privacy by Default is a goal of the xx network Platform. In your opinion, why is Privacy by Default critical for the future of the internet? Governments and power groups are trying very hard to bring the Internet under their control and sway public opinion using social media. Full privacy would make these efforts much more difficult.
In your opinion, what threat, if any, do quantum computers pose toward decentralized systems? What about centralized systems? Any centralised system cryptography using PKI is extremely vulnerable to QC due to the direct point of attack on the public key. True decentralised systems lack this common point.

Application looks good for me. You might want to consider to get one more SSD for Gateway DB, if you consider running Node and Gateway on the same server.

    Correction on H/W:
I’m planning to order RTX3060Ti or RTX3070 depending on availability. Will get a Samsung NVMe SSD as well. Will also consider running Gateway on a cloud instance.

Good application. You have my vote.

    A yes from me.

    Good :+1:

Great application. You seem have a very good experience. Add another 120Gb+ SSD NVMe to meet updated HW requirements though.

    You definitely have my vote.

looks legit, I vote for this particpant.

    I like it, I vote

good specs, my voice to you👍🏻

    Great application. I vote yes

    Nice candidate. I vote yes

i think 16Gb more ram is not a problem. YES.

    Thank you for your support.
RAM or any other necessary H/W upgrade is not a problem.

    Yes!

Hardware on the way! Node can be launched within a week.
    Final spec:
