| What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit? | Decentralized is making something in such a way that there is not centralized attack point such as a company datacenter headquarters for example... Whereas a distributed network would be one that has multiple network sites (nodes/gateways) setup in various locations, preferably in different countries with various ISP's. This is what xx.network is doing also of course! |

What about centralized systems? | It's a debated subject of course but as I understand it, the use of quantum computing will threaten all current security protocols being able to brute force most of them. |

The bandwith isn’t enough if you would like to run the node and gateway on the same machine.
If you would use a separate gateway and node you would have my vote

Thanks for the heads up about the banwidth issue. I could certainly get my upload speed upgraded with the service provider if I ran node gateway on same PC… But I would more likely just run the gateway on a VPS.
Im pretty flexible that way.

By the way this is my dad’s node. He’s gonna run it from the next province over from me and I just help him with the technical setup. He will join discord if he gets accepted.
