Do you have past experience managing communities or creating content to be distributed across social media? Please enter details for all with which you are comfortable or have experience:

Would you be interested in helping to lead the development of the next xx network community? Yes
Why do you want to run a node in the xx network
    • To protect private personal communication around health and lifestyle issues from mass surveillance and abuse by centralized organizations
    • To promote quantum secure distributed systems
    • To earn xx coins
    • To help build David Chaum's vision of a decentralized world
    • To contribute to a promising project
    • To help build true digital cash to fuel a decentralized economy
What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit? With decentralised networks decisions are made across different nodes, with no single body having control over the entire network. They typically allow increased computational capabilities and great speed and flexibilty; maintenance on the otherhand can be quite demanding. Distributed networks are where processing and data is spread across multiple nodes, but decision making is either centralised or decentralised. They do not have a single point of failure and highly scalable with load being distributed across the network. However, they may not be as efficient in communication and can be quite complicated in nature. I personally feel we should leverage the benefits of both decentralised and distributed attributes, but look to address the any weaknesses that they have.
As best as you can given currently available information, please describe the value proposition of the xx network platform and how it differs from other current blockchain solutions. It is its foundational focus on privacy with a full stack blockchain enabling quantum resistant security. Furthermore its minimising of computational overheads is critical to achieve much needed low latency real-time transactions if we are to break the strong hold of the traditional incumbents.
Privacy by Default is a goal of the xx network Platform. In your opinion, why is Privacy by Default critical for the future of the internet? At work my moto is privacy & data security by design. It is absolutely critical to ensure that privacy and data security features are baked into any design at the very beginning; it needs to be part of the DNA of a system. On top of this, privacy must be by default. Too many privacy breaches occur when it is not by default and is too complicated for users to understand. More often than not this is due to unscrupulous companies who actually want to profit from peoples' private data.
In your opinion, what threat, if any, do quantum computers pose toward decentralized systems? What about centralized systems? I visited the IBM Research Centre in Zurich in 2019 and was privileged to meet some of the guys working on their quantum computers. Whilst in its infancy, it is clear that quantum computing poses a serious threat to security and privacy in the future with off the charts computational power that will challenge existing security methodologies.

I also would like to add that I am super excited about the prospect of hosting a node for the xx network. I don’t think there are many yet in South East Asia and I am very likely the first in Singapore!

This is a brilliant project with an amazing team and community and I would be privileged to be a part of it.

Please feel free to ask me any questions that you may have, as its important to me to get your guys approval for my application

Your support would be greatly appreciated!

Also to bolster my knowledge of hosting nodes, I also took the opportunity over the last month to build a 6 GPU mining rig. It’s been up and running for a while and I have tried mining different coins like ETH, VTC, RVN etc. It’s been a lot of fun and I’ve already learnt a lot in my preparation to host a node for the xx network!

Thanks! I forgot to mention I already have a separate 250GB 980 PRO SSD installed for the gateway initially on the same box. I am exploring where in Singapore to host it for MainNet.
