|How did you originally hear about the xx network?||Telegram|
|Which current xx network communities are you a member of?||Twitter, Telegram, Discord|
|What specifically, interests you about the xx network platform?||Xx-network looks as a solid project that has real use cases and it has a very strong team|
|Outside of xx network communities, are you an active participant in other node or developer community groups? If so, which ones?||No|
|Have you ever attended a blockchain conference? If so, which one(s)?||NEO blockchain conference (Moscow), Binance conference (Moscow)|

|Why do you want to run a node in the xx network?||To earn xx coins, To help build David Chaum's vision of a decentralized world, To contribute to a promising project|
|What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit?||Decentralized networks has no one control center, each node can work independently.|
|As best as you can given currently available information, please describe the value proposition of the xx network platform and how it differs from other current blockchain solutions.||The xx network intends to be a new type of platform, offering a protected digital sphere, through which its users can share ideas and exchange value in a secure and private way. It is comprised of five major components: Currency, Blockchain, Nodes, Communication, Governance. Five core mechanisms of xx consensus: NodeCon, Committed Randomness, Endorser Sampling, Compact Endorsement Signatures. The xx network is capable of supporting the growth and scale required to create a truly global decentralized community of users.|
|Privacy by Default is a goal of the xx network Platform. In your opinion, why is Privacy by Default critical for the future of the internet?||The Internet Should Hide Your Data, Not Share It Internet security, like vaccination, should aim to protect the whole herd.|
|In your opinion, what threat, if any, do quantum computers pose toward decentralized systems? What about centralized systems?||Quantum computing poses a threat to blockchain technology because it upends the basic security assumption of elliptic curve cryptography, namely, that computers cannot factor large numbers effectively. Quantum Computing will soon be a reality. It can, and will be used to crack the current standard which is RSA. However, if quantum computing is applied to encryption, the encryption gets tighter and it becomes harder to break the blockchain codes.|
will you host it in your home or in a datacenter (because the specs you listed are like hetzner specs, additionally you are missing the RTX 2070 GPU as a minimum requirement)
Hi. Hetzner of course
ok so you do not get my vote… as you have no RTX GPU… and dont fullfill the minimum requirement
Of course. I don’t. I will use Nokia 3100 as my RTX GPU lol
Without a GPU to meet the minimum recommended spec, it will be a No from me too.
my vote is no…
no from me.
No go from me as well, given that the applicant is not ready to meet the minimum requirements.
For your record: CPU-only nodes running in over-represented datacenters (such as Hetzner) are now being disabled and asked to make changes to continue operating, see here.
Now I see that Hetzner doesn’t meet required settings. In this case I desided to raise my node on my computer at home. I didn’t want to do that, but if this is the only way I’ll do that for sure because I really interested in this project.
My home computer specs are:
Rzyen 9 3900
Gigabyte Geforce 2080 Super
200mbps internet speed channel.
thanks in advance.
Best wishes, n1trog3n
Sorry n1trog3n I feel like you’re not really committed to this project in a serious way. Thanks for the light hearted and friendly approach all the same.
A no vote from me I’m sorry to say.
You are wrong…
If you meet the HW requirements you have my vote.
