Why do you want to run a node in the xx network? To protect the privacy of political speech, To protect private personal communication around health and lifestyle issues from mass surveillance and abuse by centralized organizations, To promote quantum secure distributed systems, To help build David Chaum's vision of a decentralized world, To contribute to a promising project, To undo the centralization of the internet by big tech companies, To help build true digital cash to fuel a decentralized economy, To reverse the political centralization of legal, police, and military organizations which favor the wealthy and powerful, I am running my xmpp channels over tor myself
What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit? They differ in 1. How they scale p2p syncing and hence complete the network /graph (or not). 2. Resolve the dependency of both p having to be online simultaneously for sharing. The difference on client side lies in degrees of connections and ease with which a user connect with users outside his direct existing network. My personal position is that users should (mutually, requiring approval of both ) have the control of the privacy of the connections s/he makes in/out of network with an option for anonymity, protecting the freedom of speech . Hirearchy in the network need be relative and that need be automated by design of protocol or otherwise. At times obfuscated data and not value judgements hold the answers and I accept that. Even Usenet needed it at some point , hence usenet2 came with new laws. I determine my position, by solving practical issues like syn without ACK flood ddos. I don't prefer singleton like distributed has table, but I don't prefer pubs of scuttlebutt either. I prefer pubkey sharding to Encrypting the encrypted keys , so that I can upload it in cloud for verification, which TBH seems circularly self defeating to me. That was top of my head.
As best as you can given currently available information, please describe the value proposition of the xx network platform and how it differs from other current blockchain solutions. I can comment only after I have sufficient experience of contributing to its development
Privacy by Default is a goal of the xx network Platform. In your opinion, why is Privacy by Default critical for the future of the internet? Look at all the people being jailed or manipulated. Connections are means of production too, they need not be commoditized or supervised to feed parasitic monopolies, that skews the very economy of innovation and progress
In your opinion, what threat, if any, do quantum computers pose toward decentralized systems? What about centralized systems? Infosec is not ready to handle the quantum threat model for centralized. Even before quantum of even personal computing , pstn , which are distributed systems, were phreaked by Joy the bubbles. So yes infosec is an obvious

Currently the betanet requires 100mbit upload capability… are you able to fullfill that?

Needs to meet bandwidth requirements.
