Are you an individual or a group? Individual

What kind of improvements would you like to see in Elixxir nodes vs. previous the previous nodes you have supported?
What are potential setbacks preventing you from operating an Elixxir node? H/W Costs
What is a reasonable maximum connection speed on which you could operate a BetaNet node in your geographic region? (Where 0 = 10 Megabits/second, and 100 = 10 Gigabits/second) 15
What is a reasonable uptime estimate you can provide for your BetaNet node? (As a percentage) 85
Please estimate the cost of electricity in the geographic area where your BetaNet node will be running. . .09 cents/KWh
On a monthly basis, how much time can you publicly commit to dedicating toward governance if you were selected as a BetaNet node operator? (Where 0 = 1 hour/month, and 100 = 20 hours/month) 15
If you were selected to run a BetaNet node, would it run on your own hardware or be deployed to cloud-based servers? Hardware

Do you have past experience deploying hardware servers in a datacenter? Yes (please describe)
Do you already own sufficient hardware to meet the published Elixxir BetaNet node specifications? No
Yes (Please list specs)
Do you have hardware you would like to use but does not meet the stated BetaNet node specs? If so, please provide specs on that hardware below:
Do you have past experience deploying servers to cloud-based services? No
Yes (please specify)
Why do you want to be a node? I think it's an exciting technology, and I see the best in class privacy coin being the number two digital asset behind XRP in the long term.
How did you originally hear about Elixxir? Twitter
Which current Elixxir communities are you a member of? Twitter
Are you an active member of those communities? Yes
What specifically, interests you about the Elixxir platform? Privacy is key given where our society is heading. I'm not the best fit for a node operator, but I've seen you guys ask several times for applications. I like what I've seen so far and want to support the project so I'm submitting this to get on your radar. Happy to help out in whatever manner I can.
Outside of Elixxir communities, are you an active participant in other node or developer community groups? If so, which ones? No
Have you ever attended a blockchain conference? If so, which one(s)? No
As part of growing the Elixxir community, are you willing to create content as part of operating an Elixxir BetaNet node? Examples would be node setup & on-boarding review vlog post, bi-weekly twitter update, medium review of on-going node operational process, etc. Yes (how much content on a monthly basis?)
If yes, how much content on a monthly basis? Whatever's needed.
What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit? Decentralized means no central authority, but still a level of hierarchy in the system. Distributed is flat effectively making all nodes equal. As an anarchist and quaker, I believe in equality. I also understand when applied to IT and networks, there are advantages to each architecture, and it depends on the use case.
As best as you can given currently available information, please describe the value proposition of the Elixxir platform and how it differs from other current blockchain solutions. Number one is privacy, the only one out there currently doing it right is Monero. I see Elixxir as the next evolution. I understand it's mixing transactions as they pass through the network, random groups of nodes are chosen, they pre-compute the paths (have ??'s) to enable greater throughput, and the paths are destroyed once the next node group takes over. There's no mining, no shitty half assed security implementations, no opting into privacy, it's not trying to be everything (Apollo), it's a platform build around the need for privacy.
Privacy by Default is a goal of the Elixxir Platform. In your opinion, why is Privacy by Default critical for the future of the internet? The US government tells us we have the right to remain silent. I exercised that right when arrested for filming in the lobby of city hall, and they held me in jail for 52 days without trial. Governments have shown repeatedly why privacy is critical, not just to the future of the internet, but to our society as a whole.
