For which networks Have you ever operated a node? Ethereum (ETH, ETC, etc)
What kind of improvements would you like to see in Elixxir nodes vs. previous the previous nodes you have supported? All the announcements Mr Chaum made in his talks about Elixxir sound like it’ll be the killer dapp everyone has been waiting for in cryptoland. I am not a coder, so I will leave it to the dev community to make specific requests.
What are potential setbacks preventing you from operating an Elixxir node? Influencing the performance of my machine negatively
What is a reasonable maximum connection speed on which you could operate a BetaNet node in your geographic region? (Where 0 = 10 Megabits/second, and 100 = 10 Gigabits/second) 73
What is a reasonable uptime estimate you can provide for your BetaNet node? (As a percentage) 71
Please estimate the cost of electricity in the geographic area where your BetaNet node will be running. . ~ 0.30€ per kw/h
On a monthly basis, how much time can you publicly commit to dedicating toward governance if you were selected as a BetaNet node operator? (Where 0 = 1 hour/month, and 100 = 20 hours/month) 14
If you were selected to run a BetaNet node, would it run on your own hardware or be deployed to cloud-based servers? Hardware
In what type of environment would this server be located? Personal Home
Do you have past experience deploying hardware servers in a datacenter? No
Do you already own sufficient hardware to meet the published Elixxir BetaNet node specifications? No
Yes (Please list specs)

Do you have past experience deploying servers to cloud-based services? No
Yes (please specify)
Why do you want to be a node? 1) Learning experience. 2) From what I understand Elixxir can become the first application to be adopted by average users globally = killer app, as much as wechat, whatsapp combined...
How did you originally hear about Elixxir? Bitcointalk
Which current Elixxir communities are you a member of? Telegram, Medium, Twitter
Are you an active member of those communities? No
What specifically, interests you about the Elixxir platform? The combination of its features scalability- privacy - speed... The UI intergated into a messaging app
Outside of Elixxir communities, are you an active participant in other node or developer community groups? If so, which ones?
Have you ever attended a blockchain conference? If so, which one(s)?
As part of growing the Elixxir community, are you willing to create content as part of operating an Elixxir BetaNet node? Examples would be node setup & on-boarding review vlog post, bi-weekly twitter update, medium review of on-going node operational process, etc. No
If yes, how much content on a monthly basis?
What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit? Half baked decentralized systems can easily fall back into central bank type governance. In that sense the word decentralization is miss leading. PoW systems are to slow and need complicated additional developments to maintain in the fast growing and competitive crypto world, but will be replaced over the time. Current PoS blockchains are sacrificing real decentralization and therefore not interesting in the long run. Real distributed networks are favorable, additionally privacy protecting systems even more. Cardano and Holochain are my current favorite projects, but Elixxir might become the absolute gold standard soon!?
As best as you can given currently available information, please describe the value proposition of the Elixxir platform and how it differs from other current blockchain solutions. Elixxir‘s combination of speed, scalability, privacy in a distributed system has not been accomplished by any other platform so far. Many are working on it, but with earlier versions of their systems, the code languages they use and existing community interests (miners, control addiction) they have slowing obstacles that might be the reasons why new and fresh developments will outperform them. It will be depending on who will be able to come up with a simple average user friendly solution. Elixxir (D. Chaum) has been wisely waiting how the cryptoworld is moving and growing into maturity. The timing is of essence and it might be just perfect for Elixxir to launch this year. It needs a massive supporting community and storytelling and marketing certainly need to be improved to exite the average user, focus on those people as much as you can. The devs will move very quickly anyway. Mr Chaum‘s reputation is legendary and will be great, but the hipe should allow new coders to become Elixxir heros and influencers as well. So don’t make the mistake to buld the hipe just around Mr Chaum, but build the visible community of devs that should stand on eye to exe level with the great man... All in all I look forward to see how Elixxir is kicking asses, especially some of the half baked stuff (POS) from greed oriented devs...
Privacy by Default is a goal of the Elixxir Platform. In your opinion, why is Privacy by Default critical for the future of the internet? With Humanitad Foundation we have made symposiums on surveillance with leading speakers incl. Noam Chomsky and its so obvious why we need an end to the corporate and government spys, that I leave it to others to elaborate their views. A big concerning threat related to privacy is 5G and very recommended to watch this video we just released about it: https://youtu.be/ol3tAxnNccY
