For which networks Have you ever operated a node? Bitcoin (BTC, BCH, etc), Ethereum (ETH, ETC, etc), Tezos, Tomochain, Beam, Grin
What kind of improvements would you like to see in Elixxir nodes vs. previous the previous nodes you have supported? I am interested to see how the nodes can further contribute to the community, through educational materials, explainers, guides etc. This is something I am passionate about.
What are potential setbacks preventing you from operating an Elixxir node? If operated in a data center, the possibility of downtime.
What is a reasonable maximum connection speed on which you could operate a BetaNet node in your geographic region? (Where 0 = 10 Megabits/second, and 100 = 10 Gigabits/second) 87
What is a reasonable uptime estimate you can provide for your BetaNet node? (As a percentage) 99
Please estimate the cost of electricity in the geographic area where your BetaNet node will be running. . 0.15 USD kw/h
On a monthly basis, how much time can you publicly commit to dedicating toward governance if you were selected as a BetaNet node operator? (Where 0 = 1 hour/month, and 100 = 20 hours/month) 70

Do you have past experience deploying hardware servers in a datacenter?
Do you already own sufficient hardware to meet the published Elixxir BetaNet node specifications?
Yes (Please list specs)
Do you have hardware you would like to use but does not meet the stated BetaNet node specs? If so, please provide specs on that hardware below:
Do you have past experience deploying servers to cloud-based services?
Yes (please specify)
Why do you want to be a node? Elixxir plans to be decentralized and free, I want to commit and support the network with my own resources. I have operated nodes on a number of networks, for validating the txs and chain.
How did you originally hear about Elixxir? Bitcointalk
Which current Elixxir communities are you a member of? Telegram, Reddit, Discord, Twitter
Are you an active member of those communities? No
What specifically, interests you about the Elixxir platform? It’s approach to pos and it’s focus on privacy. I think privacy in a digital age is essential, and currently lacking. Elixxir for me offers a really inclusive and open platform for being privacy back to the people.
Outside of Elixxir communities, are you an active participant in other node or developer community groups? If so, which ones? Yes. Tomochain MN developer support group, Tezos baking group, reddit eth dev group
Have you ever attended a blockchain conference? If so, which one(s)? Yes. Many. The latest were Grincon0 in Berlin, and hardfork decentralized in London.
As part of growing the Elixxir community, are you willing to create content as part of operating an Elixxir BetaNet node? Examples would be node setup & on-boarding review vlog post, bi-weekly twitter update, medium review of on-going node operational process, etc. Yes (how much content on a monthly basis?)
If yes, how much content on a monthly basis? Content weekly or bi weekly
What is the difference between decentralized networks and distributed networks, and where on the decentralization spectrum do you sit? For me the biggest difference is how the decision is made. In a decentralized network, there is no ‘leader’ that makes the decision for other nodes to follow, nodes are simply left to make there own decisions. With distributed networks, the decision made can be centralized, and spread across the distributed network. I feel that decentralized networks offer challenges, but ultimately will lead to more exciting possibilities in our future.
As best as you can given currently available information, please describe the value proposition of the Elixxir platform and how it differs from other current blockchain solutions. Fast, secure, private, and confidential transactions.
Privacy by Default is a goal of the Elixxir Platform. In your opinion, why is Privacy by Default critical for the future of the internet? Privacy is a human right. Our human rights should be maintained as default. There is a stigma that if you have nothing to hide, then you don’t need to worry. This is an unfortunate and constructed misconception that I hope privacy by default can change.
